cSplash 2017 will take place on Saturday April 29th!
What follows is the information from cSplash 2016, but this year's event is likely to be similar.

Safety Policy

Thank you for signing up for cSplash! We are very much looking forward to meeting all of you. While we have no doubt that you will find more than enough talks that will interest you, we ask that you consider leaving a period or two free on your schedule. Not only will you learn more by taking fewer classes and talking to other students about the material outside of the classes, but your brain will also need to relax every so often! See During the Day for non-class events during the day.

Please bring the following to the event:

  • A high school photo ID
  • Pencils and paper
  • $13 for T-shirt (optional, but we have limited quantity!)

See directions for information on how to get here. Regrettably,
we will not be able to offer parking at the Courant Institute.

8:00 - 8:30   Check-In (In the lobby of the Courant Institute)
8:35 - 8:45   Opening Remarks from the Organizers
8:45 - 9:15   Colloquium lecture by Professor Leif Ristroph

10:45 - 11:45   Period 2
12:00 - 1:00   Period 3a Class / Period 3b Lunch
1:15 - 2:15   Period 3b Class / Period 3a Lunch
2:30 - 3:30   Period 4
3:30 - 3:45   Cookies / Surveys

Please arrive between 8 am and 8:30 am to check in.
Remember: you must be pre-registered to check in!
We cannot guarantee a spot for any unregistered student, but please
consider checking the talks page a day or two before
the event for each class's enrollment information.

During the Day

We have a lounge on the 13th floor where you can hang out during your free periods.
There will be:

  • Tables with board games, brain teasers, and snacks;
  • Instructors who will answer any questions you might have;
  • And more!

Lunch will also be provided in the lounge to all cSplash students and instructors. We will be serving a mixture of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. We unfortunately will not be able to accommotate other dietary preferences, but we'll be happy to direct you to any of the cheap eateries in the neighborhood. Please check the safety policy if you are considering eating out on the day of the event.

Adult Visitors

We do not, in general, allow adult visitors to accompany students. cSplash is more than a mere sum of the classes offered, and we believe that the non-academic aspects of the program do not mesh well with those outside of the intended age group. Exceptions can be made if your child requires accompaniment due to special circumstances. Otherwise, you will be at the heart of one of the most beautiful neighborhoods our city has to offer! Why not explore the Village during the day?

Safety Policy

We at cSplash expect the participants to be mature and responsible individuals and will not try to micromanage every step you take on the day of the event. Nevertheless, we will have to keep track of the participants, and so we require that all cSplash students sign in and out when they leave and enter the building. Just tell us where you are going and when you will be back—it's simple as that!
